How to Get Help from Social Security

The Social Security Department website provides information and links to Social Security’s online services including: applying for benefits and services, appealing a decision, and estimating what your benefits will be through benefit calculators, payment dates and rates. Citizens with internet access can get help from the Social Security Department, by clicking here. Depending on what you are applying for, service or benefit, you need to have an identification document and certain documentation in hand which is detailed in the information sheets.

Getting help by phone

If you are unable to use online services or want to speak directly to a Social Security representative, you can call Freephone 153 for help. Freephone 153 provides services from Monday to Friday from 08:00 till 16:00 with extended hours on Wednesday, till 19:00.

For International Calls call on +356 21255153 (This is not a freephone number).

Getting help in person

In some instances, a citizen may need assistance to apply for a benefit or service and it is therefore still necessary to go to the local servizz.gov hub. Though it may turn out that your issue requires you to call in or pay a visit to the local Servizz.gov hub, it is a good idea to start with the social security website, which can provide a lot of answers to questions and frequently let you take care of your business much faster, and more conveniently before trying other avenues.

servizz.gov hubs

servizz.gov is the agency bringing all government services together, managing 24 hubs across Malta. It is a bridge between the Public Service of Malta and the public, making government services more accessible. servizz.gov makes life easier and saves you time as it saves  your from travelling to offices in Valletta and elsewhere.
