Personal Details – Update

Overview

This service allows you to update your personal details such as name, surname, sex identification, or date of birth with the Department of Social Security. You can view these details by clicking here. This is necessary if these details do not match with those on your Maltese Identity Card. The department will verify these details with the government agency Identità.

What you’ll get

You can request to update the following details as per your Maltese Identity Card:

• Identity Card Number.
• Name and Surname.
• Sex Identification.
• Date of Birth.

Please note that these changes will not be updated instantly as they need to be verified first, which may take between five (5) to ten (10) days for confirmation, depending on the nature of the case.

Eligibility

General eligibility criteria:

• You must be a holder of a Maltese Identity Card ending with the letters M, G, L, M, P and A.

How to apply

Fill in and submit the application online.

After submission, the department will verify these details with the government agency Identità. Once verified and confirmed, your details will be updated in the Department of Social Security’s records and you will be informed of the outcome through an email notification if request was done online. If the request was done through a walk-in at a servizz.gov hub, you may indicate whether to be informed by email or by a contact number.
