Children’s Allowance Supplement
Overview
A Children’s Allowance Supplement has been introduced as from the 1st January 2021 as per budget measures. This is awarded to claimants in receipt of Children’s Allowance. Fostered children are not entitled for this Supplement.
What you’ll get
As from January 2024, Children’s Allowance beneficiaries who exceed the means testing threshold of twenty-seven thousand and six euro (€27,006), will be awarded three-hundred and ninety euro (€390) per child per year. Those not exceeding the means testing threshold will be awarded four-hundred and ten euro (€410) per child per year. The payment will be issued quarterly, every thirteen (13) weeks together with the Children’s Allowance payment. This means that the payable rate will be ninety-seven euro and fifty cents (€97.50) per child every thirteen (13) weeks for those that exceed the means testing threshold and one-hundred and two euro and fifty cents (€102.50) per child every thirteen (13) weeks for those that do not exceed the means testing threshold. Parents and Legal Guardians with joint custody will each be awarded half the applicable rate.
This also applies to foreigners and is payable in accordance with their Permit Dates.
