Contact Details
Overview
Through this service you can update your contact details as held by the Department of Social Security. This includes your postal address, email address, landline number, mobile phone number and SMS payment notification as required.
A postal address in Malta and Gozo consists of the house number or block number, any additions to the house number and apartment number, street name, town or village and postcode. To Update your postal address, you must first change your Identity Card details with the Maltese government agency Identità. Enterting the postcode is required, as part of the address updating process.
You can add or update your landline phone number, mobile phone number or both, in the contact number details stored by the Department of Social Security. Foreign registered numbers are not permitted. Additionally, you can add or modify your email address held by the Department of Social Security.
However, you cannot use this service to change from a Maltese address to a foreign address, or vice versa. Additionally, you cannot change from an already set foreign address with the Department of Social Security to a different country’s address. To request such changes, please click here. Note that these changes will not be immediate, as they require vetting first.
The SMS payment notification option is only available for beneficiaries receiving payments by bank deposits.

Eligibility
General eligibility criteria:
You are only permitted to update your postal address to match the details shown on your current Maltese Identity Card.
If you do not have a Maltese identity card, and therefore your address details are not yet registered with the Maltese government agency Identità, you may update your contact details with the Department of Social Security by visiting a servizz.gov hub. You must provide a valid official identification document, such as a temporary Identity Card issued by the maltese government agency Idenitit or passport for identification and validation of the signature on the Declaration.
You may request to update the contact details of a beneficiary you are responsible for, provided you are a registered Administrator or Agent with the Department of Social Security. You will need to provide official identification for verification purposes. This request cannot be done online, but you must attend personally at one of the servizz.gov hubs.
Requirements
To use this online service, you will need:
- A valid e-ID account issued by the Maltese government agency Identità.
Alternatively, if you are not using the e-ID, you will need:
- An official document to prove your identity, such as Passport or the Identity Card issued by the Maltese government agency Identità, when visiting a servizz.gov hub.
- An official document to prove your identity if you are an Administrator or Agent registered with the Department of Social Security and responsible for a beneficiary, and you are requesting to update the contact details of the beneficiary that you are responsible for. However, if it is the first time applying as an Administrator or Agent responsible for the beneficiary, you need to provide both official documentation of yourself as proof of identification and that of the beneficiary when visiting a servizz.gov hub.
